What's old is new again when it comes to sex education in Ontario schools, in a move promised by Premier Doug Ford on the election campaign trail.
Education Minister and Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson has announced that the province will go back to the sex ed curriculum that was in place up till 2015.
Same-sex marriage, gender identity and masturbation discussions included in the Liberal update of the curriculum upset social conservatives, who wanted them removed.
Thompson says she'll announce soon a schedule of parent consultations across the province, on how to implement the revised curriculum.
The announcement quickly follows word that $100 million earmarked for school repairs and upgrades is being cut.
The program was to be funded with revenue from the cap-and-trade system, which is being abolished.
