Dog Bites Child In Hanover

Hanover | by Claire McCormack

Public Health is looking for the dog's owner to confirm the dog doesn't have rabies.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is asking the community for help in finding the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident in Hanover.

Health officials say on Sunday, October 20th, at about 6 p.m., a child was bitten by a beige Mastiff type dog at the Hanover Skateboard Park.

They say the dog was off leash, attended by a young adult male.

Staff of the Grey Bruce Health Unit need to confirm the dog is not infectious with rabies.

By verifying the health of the dog, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
